Boekedag
Vlooi se partytjie
Kipper’s Party is one of the highlights of the Grade 1 year.
We even get to come to school in party clothes. The moms also surprise us each year with a beautifully decorated birthday cake for Kipper.
Gr 3 Afskeid
Each group uses its own creativity and initiative to make every year unique. Voorwaar ‘n treffergeleentheid!
Entrepreneursdag
Entrepreneurs Day always provides much anticipation and excitement. The build-up to the Big Day is something special, with partnerships being formed, products being decided on and business plans being discussed.
The learnes thoroughly enjoy this opportunity to learn about commerce and trading, and get that “business feeling” when their products are sold. They suddenly feel rich, and glow with delight as their products “move off the shelf”.
The discussions in the classroom the following day provide a learning experience when they establish the difference between cost price and selling price, and how to calculate a profit or loss.
Temadag
Gr3 kamp
Every year the Grade 3 classes embark on a big adventure known as the Grade 3 Camp.
After much organisation and excitement, the Grade 3 learners leave the school grounds for their camp. During the two days on camp they focus mainly on group work, including wonderful events such as the Camp concert, a Treasure Hunt and a Torch March to discuss the stars.
Each group of ten learners has a parent in charge, staying with them in their chalet and generally making sure that each member of the group is involved in all the activities. They are taught about fynbos and nature conservation, and have plenty of fun, making their own stick bread and designing emblems for their group.
Besides all this, there is swimming, tug of war, a hike and singing around the campfire to ensure a complete outdoor experience for each child.
